Honolulu Great Island Circle Tour Excursion Reviews
Our plane did not leave until 9 pm so we had another day in Hawaii. So we wouldn't be stuck with luggage, we decided to take the ship provided excursion to see the island of Oahu. This was an 8 hour tour covering almost 200 miles. It was a nicely guided tour by Gray Line. We visited the major sites on the island including a couple of gift shops (too many, too long). We stopped at the Dole Pineapple Plantation which could have been a lot longer. Lunch was at the Kualoa Ranch. It was supposed to be a buffet. It was but a poor one. You could also tour the ranch...if we had more time. The tour did not cover the Polynesian Cultural Center nor Pearl Harbor. It was a good way to spend the day but after a while it got to be same old same old. Glad to be back at the airport when it was over. But it did give us a final look at Hawaii.
Tour started great - very knowlegable guide/bus driver. Kept us entertained. Unfortunately there was a huge clog of vehicles on the North Shore of Oahu due to a surfing contest which made us 2 hours behind our scheduled time to arrive at the Polynesian Cultural Center. They did save us some buffet food, but was obviously stale. Saw the Canoe Pagent, Big Screen movie, and had some time to see a little more of it. Supposed to be 5 hrs. there, barely had 2 1/2.
Walked off ship, got our luggage and short walk to bus. 6 people. Many photo opts. and stops. A great way to spend the day. North shore, Polynesian Culture Center. Dropped us off at our hotel.
