See the famous Gatun Locks and visit the Black Christ Church in Portobelo.

Gatun Locks are a MUST SEE experience but skip the Potobelo tour. Long bus ride to an old, filthy fort and a brief visit to the beautiful but also dirty church with the "black Christ" statue. We visited during Holy Week and there were a lot of Panamanians there to pray in front of this statue.
