Similar to a glass bottom boat, the semi-sub showcases all of the underwater landscapes and unique marine life only visible from below the water's surface.

The weather didn't cooperate so the reef was not as colourful as it could be. But the tour operator did a fine job of getting us safely from pontoon boat to semi sub and back to pontoon boat for the trip back to shore.

The excursion said partially submerged submarine. It was actually a very deep bottom boat. However, to was way to cool to see the coral reef. It was very nice. If you are have trouble with confined spaces don't go because its tight and they close the upper lid.If you get seasick don't go.It rocks a lot.

LOVED!!!!! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND! The guys were very informative. The reefs were amazing. Grand Turk itself is amazing. The water is so clear and the beaches are awesome too. Love the little shopping court with restrooms right there too. Tons of beach chairs to use, and the pool is free too!
We booked the sub last minute and had questioned if we should or not just to save money and have time to relax. But this by far was the BEST thing we did the entire trip! Again, the guys on the tour was so helpful and informative. Especially loved the guy who dives down near the reefs and feeds the fish for you to get a closer look at them. They were funny and uplifting. Just great! Do it! Can't say enough about this excursion!

The tour was excellent and professional in all respects, a good value for the cost. The only thing we didn't like was the crew's sob story for tips at the end of the tour.

We took a pontoon boat from the shore out to the semi-sub. A semi-sub looks like a regular boat above water, but it has a sort of basement with windows all around where you look out and watch the marine life. The staff on the semi sub were very helpful in getting us aboard safely. I think this was the highlight of the trip for many of us our group. Then we took a very informative taxi tour around the island. Was disappointed in how run down it is, but at the port Carnival had a wonderful shopping area, complete with huge swimming pool and Margaritaville. I loved the pool. Could have stayed there all day.

We took a nice ten minute boat ride to another boat outfitted with a giant windowed basement. Old women commented how safe they felt transferring from boat to boat during pretty good winds. They drove around the reefs and one jumped in scuba gear and fed the fish in front of the windows. They were understandable, knowledgeable, friendly and offered us water throughout. The tour took less than 2 hours and left plenty of time for exploring and shopping the island.

Very enjoyable, we saw lots of beautiful fish and underwater landscapes. The sub is located about 10 minutes away from where we docked so a small boat transports everyone over. This could be a problem for the easily sea-sick. A transfer is made from the transport boat to the dock/sub and this could be a concern for anyone with mobility issues. I was worried that I might have an issue with being on a sub but for anyone who's ever been on the submarine ride at Disneyland... this is very similar.
