Antwerp City Tour Excursion Reviews

The City tour was mostly in French! We left the tour behind and wandered the Antiques District on our own!

Another well informed guide who was also easy to understand.We did a coach tour around the city, followed by a tour of a boutique beer brewery. We then did a walking tour of the old town, which ended at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal. Here we were given in depth information about the symbolism and style of Rubens, who has 4 masterworks in the cathedral. After lunch we walked back to the MAS Museum, and went to the top to see the excellent view of the city from the top of the museum.

We did a self guided walking tour of Antwerp on our own. The city is simply fascinating with wonderful buildings, cathedrals and museums. Antwerp is a chocolate lovers paradise with shop after shop to choose from. Our visit to the International Horticulture Show, Floriade 2012 was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. Over 168 acres of lawns, gardens, shows, arenas, amphitheaters, entertainment and buildings showcasing horticulture from around the world. Plan on a full day so you can see everything.

Our ship docked in Vlissingen from 9:00am to 2:00pm. We left the ship for the day and toured the countryside and then Antwerp, we re-met the ship when it docked the same day in Antwerp @ 7:00PM. Our guide was George Depoorter, which was our favorite guide of the entire trip. Fun,informative,well prepared,simply the best. Would HIGHLY recommend George. E-mail george.depoorter@skynet.be. We toured the countryside which was very nice although we had just missed the Tulips. Visited Middleburg a pretty older city. Toured Antwerp which was pretty cool in and of itself.
