A terrific group of young people lacking leadership. Unorganized.

Princess worked with Alaskan Adventures on this one and we had an amazing time. There were 3 young (early 20s) guides who got us into our kayaks, relayed basic safety info, and provided a ton of knowledge about the Mendenhall Glacier area where we were kayaking. We saw a harbor seal, a number of bald eagles, and had a blast working off some of the energy we'd been storing on the boat.

It was very beautiful. However, it was raining. We had to wear heavy rain gear. So it was difficult. Also, we were under the impression that we would be near the glacier. It was far away. Also, shortly after we arrived it was obscured by clouds.

The kayaking with glacier view is not what is advertised. it was a good experience with closeup eagles but you are no where near a glacier! it is like 20miles away in the distance If there are no clouds.

We didn't get very close to the Mendenhall Glaicer but we had great views of it. It was a little taxing to kayak the lake as a couple people weren't sure if they'd make it back to land, but we had sea lions popping up around us and bald eagles flying around.

In Juneau, we did the Glacier View Sea Kayaking Adventure. We had an absolute blast! The tour began with a half hour bus ride from the ship all the way to Douglas Island across from the heart of Juneau. Once we arrived at the Kayaking spot, we were fitted with boots, lightweight water skirts, and paddles, and then we were off and running. There was an odd number of people taking the excursion, and there were only tandem kayaks available for all of us, so I kayaked with the new tour guide in training, Marika. She did such an excellent job, and was a great joy to talk to. She is originally from Ketchikan, the port which the Miracle is supposed to go to but has recently removed from it’s itinerary, so it was great learning about both Ketchikan and Juneau. And Alex, the main tour guide, was just terrific. He was very knowledgeable on so much of the area, and was both very funny and so so passionate about his job. You could really tell he cared a lot about what we saw and that we had a great time. And we saw some amazing things. There are many Bald Eagles in the area, and TWICE Alex guided us right next to a Bald Eagle perched on a rock and just sat in silence as we watched it’s stunning beauty. We had such a mesmerizing time. Beginner and experienced kayakers should totally take this tour, but just fair warning, make sure that you are able to stay out in the water for a long time and work with a partner in paddling. You may also be just a tad sore the next morning.

My son and I were supposed to go kayaking. The kayaking was canceled due to bad weather...we didn't find out until we roamed the dock for 15 minutes looking for the tour, couldn't find it, then found the NCL shore manager who informed us that it was canceled. They knew ahead of time and did not bother to inform us, so we didn't really have time to book an alternate tour.
