View treasures salvaged from the 17th-century shipwreck at the Mel FIsher Maritime Museum or look at nearly two centuries of black history at the Lofton B. Sands African-Bahama Museum -- two of tourists favorite museums in Key West.

Mel Fisher Museum, was pretty empty as far as displays, I was there 15 years ago and there were at least twice as many exhibits. Told by the cashier, the exhibits had been removed by the investors. Disappointing.

We did not pay to do the tour because we only wanted to climb the tower to see the beautiful views of key west. We did pass a tour group and it seemed pretty cheesy. The views from the top of the tower were more than worth it. We were just about the highest point in Key West. There is also a live web cam at the top that you can give your family/friends the website to for a quick wave hello.

Truman's White House was ok. Lots to learn. Not good for kids-too long and too many things to not touch.
