Overall Rating
A guided stroll through Newport is the perfect way to make sure you don't miss any of the city's important sites.

The guide was very informative and took us to places that we would have missed if doing this independently. However, she was brief, to-the-point, and moved us along at a brisk pace. We ended up revisiting our route after she left us so that we could actually get some time to explore what she had shown us. I would recommend this tour to get your bearings and some insight. As I said, she was very informative if lacking in personality.

After we exited the tender boat, we went straight to the information center near the Marriott. We took the city bus to the Tennis Hall of Fame and then got off because we judged the rest of the distance to the "Cliff Walk" to be easily walkable. We meandered down the side streets of Newport, eventually coming to the Cliff Walk. We walked to "Rough Point" from the northern end, and back to the northern end, then back through Newport's shopping districts and back to the dock. We stopped at the "Newport Creamery" for refreshment...highly recommend it!
