Faneuil Hall is at the historic seat of Boston. Many politicians in the modern day have made announcements from this historic hall. The National Park Service holds talks at several points during the day, or just ask the park ranger on duty about the portraits or anything else that is on display. On the ground floor of the hall is a marketplace/food court.
Quincy Marketplace is home to an extensive food court and several national retailers like Orvis. Coffee is very good and there are many varieties of snacks from which to choose (hot food, pastries, candy, nuts, cookies).
