This is a great excursion HOWEVER if you are planning that your kids are doing the ziplining, be aware that even though they say the day is 7 hours long, you will not have ANY beach time if you let your kids do this. You take a 1 hour boat ride followed by lunch. Then, you have maybe 30 minutes before the ziplining which takes 1.5 hours with safety talks, meeting monkeys, walking on a donkey up the hill etc. Parents are required to be there. Afterward, you have about 45 minutes before it is time to go to the boat to leave.

Las Caletas was a beautiful place, however, the water was still very cold in March and so the activities were limited. The sand was much more granular than on the east coast of Mexico and was not pleasant to walk. In fact our son had several sores on his feet after this excursion. The food was just OK. To get around you have to climb up and down steps and walk on uneven pathways. The bathrooms were very basic and was OK as far as cleanliness goes. Our son signed up for the zip line and enjoyed it very much. The only thing we didn't like was that this activity was without us. We could see him in a distance, but we couldn't be with him. Also, they have a photographer there taking pictures and if you want just one phone, you have to buy them all! They're not cheap, and that was a little frustrating. We have no pictures of him playing with the spider monkeys (which was during the zip line adventure) or zip-lining. But, THEY have great pictures of him!
