The Kayak and Snorkel Safari was our favorite of all our excursions. The guide was informative and passionate about the ecology of the islands. he made sure to take us to locations where he knew we would see fish and took the time to explain about the effects of the hurricane on the islands and the attempts to rehabilitate the mangrove trees.

After the bus takes you to the drop off point, about 20 minutes drive, you meet your guide who gives you the preliminary instructions and gives you your gear. You hop in your kayaks and, as a group, head about 20 minutes down the beach to the snorkeling point. You spend about 30-45 minutes snorkeling. The water is so clear! You'll see a lot of colorful fish. If you're lucky a ray will swim by. A few folks saw one up close, but it was gone before I could get there. After snorkeling, it's back on the kayaks to head back to the meeting point. There you get a free drink (juice or rum) and a chair to sit on the beach for a few hours until heading back. We wanted to do some shopping, so we paid $10 to take a taxi back to the pier otherwise we would not been able to shop.

We were first time kayakers, much harder then we thought! But was a great experience. You kayak a good distance! Snorkeling was awesome, lots of fish, the fish would swim into you!

Kayaking is fun. Jay gave great instructions and we didn't tip our boat once. I didn't understand why the tour guide went on and on about Mangroves until back on the ship I read the description of the excursion. Oops, it was all about Mangroves, lol.

You kayak out to the dive spot. Nothing much to report here.

I booked a kayaking tour with Cayman Sea Elements. A group of about 10 of us in double kayaks were led through the mangroves. It was nice to have a small tour. We were picked up from the cruise port and taken to the marina to start our trip. It was also very reasonably priced at just $40 US per person. We were being driven back to the port when our driver asked if we wanted to do anything else. He advised us of a good restaurant with beach access. We wouldn't have found it without him. Good food and a beautiful beach. We were able to take a shuttle ride back to the pier for $4 US per person.
