It's a long trip into KL from the port, and our bus had seen a few too many KM's, however the guide was great, and made it fun. We had a good tour of the city, and ended up at the towers, where we had lunch in the food court with the locals. Good trip, and pretty tired when we got back
We went on the bus that takes you there & you then do your own thing. This is a typical busy city & there seemed to be a lot of building work everywhere which made independent travel difficult. Having been to Singapore already this wasn't anywhere near as good. We didn't go up the towers as it was hazy.
We loved the Bird Park and Orchid garden, but not nearly enough time was allocated. Lunch at the 5 stat hotel was delicious. Independence Square was a waste of time because after traffic hopping on foot in searing heat we couldn't hear one thing the tour guide said. We had 15 minutes at the market instead of the advertised 1 hour.
rained..did photo stop of large blue mosque. couldnt see towers. saw a national war memorial area which was nice. stopped for 15 minutes only at a smelly market waste of a trip. Dont have much of an impression of KL but it must be nice. Lots of people visit, so there must be other interesting places.
You dock at a purpose built cruise terminal and there is nothing there so you need a trip, taxi or shuttle service. However the shuttle only went to a shopping mall. Our trip A Glimse of KL gave us a good overview of the place and several stops for photo opportunities. Whilst stall holders would accept Us dollars and euros you need local currency to use the public toliets here.
