Long bus ride to KL, although bus was comfortable and the ride was smooth. The Caves are amazing, but the place is a chaotic mess. We are westerners who live in Asia, so are used to it. There was much more to this excursion than I expected, given that you must spend 2-3 hours just getting there and back to the ship. A very good buffet meal was served at the Tourism center, which is very well maintained. Interesting visit to a Tin dealer. Quick photo op of the Petronas Tower from the ground - and then a ride up KL Tower for great panoramic views of the city. Had to make a mad rush to catch the ship! Guide was knowledgeable and in control.

We booked the Batu Caves Excursion. This was the most sightseeing filled excursion we attended. We saw "everything": Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur Tower, Merdeka Square, Petronas Twin Towers, Royal Selangor Pewer Factory, Lunch, and Shopping. It felt like we packed in a week of traveling on that one tour.

LONG set of stairs, interesting interior. Also did a 'drive by' tour of the city and a lunch in 'little India' - took about 90 minutes to get there from Port Klang, not sure it was worthy of the trip.

We had a nice visit with plenty of time before returning to the ship.

Was really looking forward to Batu Caves, and was pretty impressed (be warned there are 272 steps to get up there) ...BUT... we only had 1/2 hour at the caves, so 10 mins climb, 10 mins viewing and 10 mins back down and refreshment stop. This was unfortunate as you need more time there, could easily spend an hour exploring. The trip then went to the Royal Selangor Pewter factory and gift shop (surprisingly interesting and plenty of people bought items in the shop), then lunch, then on to the KL tower and a trip up to the observation deck to get a 360 degree view of KL and take plenty of snaps. This was followed by a whistle stop visit to take snaps of the Petronas Towers and then back to the ship. A long day but again a good introduction to KL if like us you had never been there.
