As educational as it is entertaining, Sydney's Featherdale Wildlife Park is a blast for kids and adults alike.

If you only go to one Wildlife Park, make sure this is the one. Animals roam freely in the visitor's areas. You will have a chance to pet and stand close to the Koala bears, kangaroos, wallabies, and other native Australian animals. Bring your camera, and for the more adventurous ones, you have hold a python.

This was part of the Blue Mountain tour, along with Mt. Tonah Botanical Garden (where we had a delicious lunch-try the barramundi). Featherdale is a small park, but displays a lot of animals and birds native to Australia. We were allowed to pet a koala, as well as kangaroos.
