Colon (Cristobal) Kayaking Excursion Reviews
For a fun, active and educational Panamanian excursion, take to the ocean on a guided kayak trip.
Overall this tour was okay. The only reason we did it was so we could get off the ship during partial transit of the locks. Problem is you get back to Colon and have to wait 4 hours for ship to show up. There is very little to do in Colon. Looking back I would have found a way to stay the hotel the rest of the afternoon and then take a taxi back later. First stop of tour was the Gutun Locks for an hour. Enjoyed this stop a lot. Kayak tour was at a hotel called Meliá Panamá Canal. This is the same location the boat tours go out of. Kayaked for about an hour which was fun. Saw very little wildlife. There are bathrooms at the hotel for changing clothing. Recommend wearing a bathing suit, you will get wet to your waste getting into and out of the kayak. Colon - This was probably one of the worst ports to get stuck at for 4 hours. Very little to do. Based on what we saw during our ride through town to get to the port, we decided it probably wasn't the best area to go off exploring. Once the boat docked, it was a mad rush with everyone wanting to get back on board.Read M1chiganGirl's full Norwegian Pearl cruise review

Our tour guide didn't speak English very well. Kayaking was ok. The canal experience was just ok. I will probably never go back, but if I did, I would probably go to the free zone for a shopping day.Read sgiann13's full Carnival Pride cruise review
