The ancient theatre of Taormina, or Teatro Greco, is a beautiful and impressively well preserved monument to the power and culture of the past.

The tour of Taormina and the Greek Theater were nice, but brief. We had little free time (only about 40 min.) to shop in Taormina, but the town was nice and scenic, with the theater being the highlight with its great views of the sea and Mt. Etna.

We decided to go to the Theater when in Taormina and are happy we did - the others in our group did not want to pay the fee

Loved this city. Looking over Mount Etna was stunning and the greek theatre is a real treat. Also a hidden gem is the communal gardens. These were so pretty and we were so happy we took the effort for a visit. We also did the cable car to the beach and found a lovely one with crystal clear seas, and a lovely pasta restaurant.
