Rome (Civitavecchia) Lake Bracciano Excursion Reviews
Visit the remarkable Lake Bracciano, also home to the well-known Castello Odescalchi in Rome. Because the use of motorboats is prohibited, the lake one of the cleanest in all of Italy. So come and take a dip, and enjoy!
3 ¼ hours in bus – told would be 1 ½ hours – no vineyards – taken to a shed with a few bottles of wine for sale – elderly passenger unconscious after falling backwards off a stool - bus would not start to return to ship – injured passenger not transferred to working bus for repatriation back to ship and forced to wait until bus repaired – tour was to have been back at ship by 2pm – back at ship 5.45 pm
4 hour tour, transferring from Rome to the CIVITAVECCHIA criuise port. Toured Mideviel Castle Odeschali, village of Bracciano, Lake Bracciano, Quaint village of Cieri and ate lunch at a wonderful Italian countryside restaurant. Our driver and guide, Savino, was truly a gem...professional, pleasant to talk with and so informative about all the sights. RomeCabs provided a service in hiring an English guide for our castle tour and it was such an incredible day. Favorite tour of our trip!
We didn’t take the long trip into Rome, and took the Lake Bracciano and Wine Tasting excursion. This was a bit disappointing, with barely 20 minutes at the lake. The wine tasting was very generous, but the two elements could have been better balanced.
We had seen Rome recently so we wanted to get into the hinterlands. While we had visions of Tuscany in our heads, the drive to and from Lake Bracciano was mostly a freeway with unremarkable scenery. However, the area around the lake and the incredible Orsini Castle made the trip.
For those who have seen Rome multiple times, go to Lake Bracciano. Excellent place with a gorgeous castle. Loved the site. The tour escort was completely dull and only walked us to the castle but was unclear about the times we had afterward.
The weather was gorgeous and I recommend this place highly.
