Explore old Rhodes with a guided tour, a great way to take in the famous city of antiquity.

We enjoyed Rhodes / Lindos. Our tour guide was excellent. He took us to all of the important historic sites in Rhodes and gave us plenty of free time to take photos. We then went on to Lindos. Beautiful area. Saw the famous beaches, went to a winery, a pottery business, fun shopping, and ate a traditional Greek meal in a seaside restaurant (we had the local lamb -- outstanding).

Crowded, and virtually set up for tourists and consequently lost most of its charm

The tour we did included a trip to a monastery with great views over Rhodes countryside and coast - well worth doing. The a tour of Rhodes old town, including the Grand Master Palace. Great mosaics in many rooms and interesting history to listen to. Rhodes town you can do on your own - no need to do a tour, just walk around - it is quite small and the city walls make it clear where the town begins and ends. Port is close to the city and you get great views sailing in and out, and from the docked ship if no other boats in the way!!

Nice little area. Compact enough to not be too far.

You don't need to book an excursion to do this, we walked around and had a great time.
