The beautiful St. John's Co-Cathedral once served as church to the legendary Order of the Knights Hospitaller of St. John, popularly known as the Knights of Malta.

The ship was welcomed by a band on the docks which was fun. We went with CC companions on a privately organised tour which covered quite a bit of the island. It is an interesting place with churches, fishing villages etc. Definitely not "touristy". (facilities such as public toilets need attention). Lots of sandstone walls etc. Medieval village of Mdina very interesting and attractive.
