This cruise was absolutely spectacular! The ship was beautiful, the scenery and excursions were breathtaking and the crew was outstanding. Gabriel took amazing care of us from start to finish. George took care of us as most of our meals onboard and he was fantastic! I’m sure the crew on other cruises are wonderful as well, but it makes me want to go back and sail with this exact set of amazing ...
This was our first river boat cruise, and our first cruise with Viking. It was very well organized from start to finish. The food and service were excellent, including many local ingredients and specialties. Marie, our hard-working program director kept us well-informed and entertained and is amongst the best at her job that we've ever encountered on our many cruises. We really appreciated the ...
Cruise on Iona from Southampton to Canaries on a 2 week cruise after having been on the MSC Euribia the week before. I had my first cruise on the Azura in 2022.
I had seen some reviews of the Iona described as Butlins at sea and my first impressions were that this was rubbish. However, by the second day, I realised they were absolutely right, it is definitely Butlins at sea and for a number of ...
This was my first cruise of any type and my first visit to Europe. I don't believe there could have been a better way to experience either of these firsts. Viking is terrific! We arrived two days early in Amsterdam and had a great time touring the city. We were somewhat tired when we boarded our Viking ship but the entire crew made those first couple of hours so relaxing and comfortable. And it ...
Travelled on Iona to Portugal, Canaries and Spain
Cadiz cancelled and only 6 other port days. Far too many people for the space, everything always booked up, weather not the best and the ship struggled on these many long sea days. Doors to corridor service hatches opening and banging all night on several nights. To top it off found a live bed bug in room on last day, no bites or evidence of ...
Before commenting on the cruise, a bit of advice. If you have booked a cabin and you are happy with the location, the favoured being midships, be careful to tick the no upgrade box. Why wouldn’t you want an upgrade? Two reasons, it isn’t an upgrade in reality, you are just moved, without your agreement, to an identical cabin on a higher deck. The sting in the tail is that it is likely to be to one ...
As expected, all of the Viking staff were very helpful and responsive and provided exceptional service. Additionally, the ship (Herja) was in excellent condition, clean, and comfortable.
This was our second Viking cruise, 2014 being our first. I was surprised that we needed to bus between Zurich and Basel. More surprising, and quite disappointing, was the 6.5 hours on the bus from Trier to ...
So to clarify this is my second cruise
to begin, the service was poor and distasteful. the staff seemed disinterested rather serving they seem only to speak to each other and hide in corners. I get that, but with MSC servers are always there. They even straight up ignore you. there were some a few like three staff who were utterly amazing and a credit to the industry.
entertainment: evening ...
I will recommend Viking River Cruises to everyone. We were treated like royalty. Viking went above and beyond, as I became quite ill during travel to Budapest. Viking rep Vicktor was our guardian angel, as he called a doctor our first night in the hotel, got my meds, called an ambulance the following morning, sat with us at the hospital for EIGHT hours, and made sure we connected with Mario from ...
Excellent cruise from Rio to Lisbon. Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is upscale-casual: Few men wore sport jackets at any time. Ship was about 3/4 full, with almost all passengers being in their fifties and up. There were no children. Large mix of nationalities (US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.). It got a bit rocky towards the end of the cruise and the captain chose to skip the Madeira port of ...
