We had sailed previously on MSC Preziosa in the Caribbean which was just a glorified bus service picking up and dropping off people at each port which we found odd as no other cruise line seems to do this. This caused congestion at every port getting on and off.
The food on board was at best average and the portions in the main restaurants very small. And once the staff found out that you ...
We chose this cruise as it represented very good value and convenient from Southampton. We also liked the idea of sailing on a brand new mega ship. All in all we had an excellent time and enjoyed the facilities and service on board very much. It does get busy at times especially in the buffet restaurant but this is to be expected on a big boat and to be honest it was not that bad and we did not ...
Well what can I say, this two day mini cruise was brilliant throughout.
We live in Essex and drove to the Port of Tilbury where we boarded one of two coaches to Bristol.
We arrived in good time at Bristol, and were checked in and were onboard in no time.
Our two previous cruises had been on very large ships with 6,000 passengers plus, so we wondered how this smaller ship would ...
I like MSC Cruises and I'm not a part or full time snob.
I pay a fantastic price and feel you get more for what you paid to be fair.
The ship is clean although slob passengers seem hell bent on wrecking the ship, mass stains on furniture etc, MSC do a great job keeping it clean and very presentable.
We have been treated to excellent shows every single night, well last night was a bit ...
Done over 40 cruises over 5 cruise lines MSC up there with the best.
We had 4 days of bad weather over the 7 nights even that couldn’t dampen our enjoyment. You can’t do much about the weather cruising North Europe in the winter but we had a wonderful day in Brugge as well as Hamburg.
Tried to do Rouen from la Havre but got washed out on the way to the station.
Already done this port ...
This was our second Viking river cruise following up on the Grand European. The smaller Astrild was much more intimate than the normal long ship. There were 95 passengers on our cruise, and it was very easy to get to know folks. The crew was outstanding in all areas. Our room attendant kept our cabin spotless and our favorite waiters went above and beyond to please. The food was delicious and ...
It seems we were pretty lucky going across the Bay of Biscay - other ships on the same night had real problems. Perhaps our ‘luck’ was the result of the excellent stabilisers on Bollette.
There were a lot of lectures which would appeal to passengers selecting a Cruise round Roman Spain. It was also useful that you could watch them live or recorded in your cabin.
We stopped at some lovely ...
Occasions when all the Fred Olsen ships gather in one port are few and far between. We missed Bergen and Cadiz but were determined to do this one. Of course it was originally billed as 'Four Freds in Funchal' but the sale of Braemar has reduced the fleet to three. In fact the weather and various other unfortunate happenings meant that we on Bolette were the only ones who had a cruise that went to ...
Not a fan of big ships but chose this cruise for the itinerary. Thought with the port visits we could deal with the number of passengers. Ship is very nice and kept clean. What it suffers from is lack of staff serving in lounge areas for ordering drinks and receiving them. Long delays! Also being able to find a seat was also an issue - especially on sea days. Due to a storm in the English Channel ...
We generally sail the Caribbean and wanted to visit another region. We arrived at South Hampton the morning of sailing with a short 1.5 hour drive to port with plenty of time to spare (8PM sailing). The embarkation in a wheel chair was a bit cumbersome, never the less ok.
We didn't partake in any of the outdoor amenities due to weather, cold and drizzling. The live entertainment was very good ...
