We weren't here very long, but on a previous trip I did visit Butchart Gardens and they were beautiful. You should always allow 2-3 hours as the gardens are large. The Empress and downtown is OK to visit once... impressive. A favorite of mine is Beacon Hill Park. It is close enough to walk to from the ship or town unless you get tired easily. Beautiful city. Took a shuttle bus from the ship to downtown ($15 per person round trip). Went to the Royal BC Museum. Very nice museum. Lots of hands on type activities for kids. Several shops where you can get reasonably priced t-shirts & gifts. ...

Walked from the ship to fisherman's wharf and caught a water taxi to Chinatown. Walked around there and downtown then just walked back to the ship. Not a bad walk at all. We were a little too early for the flowers so didn't go to the gardens due to $$$. ...

Victoria is a clean, amazingly temperate city with plenty to see and do without an excursion and even minimal cost. We walked some of the city and took a local cab for other parts. For a mere $20 CAD we were able to see downtown, most major building landmarks, and the gorgeous and FREE Beacon Hill park. ...
