Semi-disastrous experience. Rained steadily every single minute we were there. Booked ship excursion to Pompeii which I was so looking forward to. Supposed to be 1 hour drive from Sorrento to Pompeii, took over 2 hours. So an already short time at Pompeii became even shorter. What a beautiful town!! Lemon trees, poppies, olive trees, grapevines, etc....all on huge cliffs along the ocean. Unbelievable beauty! Had a beautiful meal at a local restaurant and explored the square and all the shops. We took a trip to Pompeii and saw the countryside along the way, which was photo after photo after photo! Another pretty town with alot of quality shopping and nice eateries every where you look. We caught the lift from the port area up to the top of the hill. It is quite a strenuous walk otherwise.
