Did own thing. Hiked up to village-lovely. Cable car down. Don t recommend Donkeys as saw a few who just would not budge and people had to get off and walk. ...
Santorini was somewhere I had always wanted to see. It is very pretty but extremely crowded. We were charged outrageous prices to drink at a bar with a sea view. 20 euros for a beer and a fruit juice! To return to the dock there was a queue a mile long at the cable car station so we walked down the cliff path. It took 40 min and was hot and slippery. We could have gone by donkey but I am sorry for ...
What an incredible island. Suggest Tony's Car Rental and doing it yourself - it's an easy place to drive, and we went all over the island - north (beautiful Oia), then south (the Akrotiri archaeological site, red beach and lunch) and east (black beaches) as well as the capital, Fira. Get off the boat fast so you can beat the crowds onto the cable car from the tender port. ...
Very nice with great views but cable car trip back down had 2 hours wait so we just walked down very difficult path several people on board broke arms legs etc were trainers poor donkeys going up and down and in poor condition ...

Still had to get down to the tender, huge queues for the cable cars, so walked down, avoiding the literally hundreds of donkeys! Much too busy when ...
We took our own tour on a boat/bus then came back down from Fira on the cable car.
