It is so easy to get into Rome from Civitavecchia by train. Taking the shuttle from the port to the port gate then walking to the train station and purchasing the ticket for Rome. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. When doing this trip independently it's important to allow enough time for the return journey so that the ship doesn't sail without you. ...
