From the ship there is literally a 5 minute walk to the city walls, and then you find yourself within this labyrinth of winding streets, wonderful shopping and incredible history. We had planned to go to Lindos on a boat trip there and get a taxi back (to be back in time for the ship sailing) but having asked the boat trip people if we could book one way they said they couldn't take us as all passengers must do the return journey on the boat. Rhodes is really beautiful with really beautiful scenes. From the ship it is a small walk to the Old Town and went on to the city for some shopping. Really nice outlets at good prices and many sales during July. ...
The ship ties up just along the quay from the entrance into the walled city. We explored the medieval palace and the walled city. Later we took a local bus out to the long sandy Faliraki beach. The bus terminates right at the beach where there are mini markets and cafes as well as loungers/umbrellas to rent. Rhodes old city is beautiful with many interesting alleyways to explore.
