Not our first trip to Peurto Vallarta, so jumped on the local bus to "Centro" and stood most of the way - full of locals. Just hang on tight !!! You must pay in pesos, but very cheap ride for 8 kilometers - 9 pesos each, about 50 cents. Always love PV! Stayed away from the touristy parts and took a cab into Old Town. There's a cab service at the port that is $6 per person and they fill up a van before they leave. Very cheap way to travel the city. ...

I rate it this way simply because I have been here many times. For cruisers, there is a Walmart directly across from the ship so easy to get some new things such as toothpast or whatnot. This part of town is not the best for walking and scenery but the local bus is very cheap and takes just minutes to get to the more historic downtown.
