not quite so far to walk but really busy roads outside the port did a hop on hop off tour and walked around the town found the town quite dirty with dog poo fouling the sidewalk and rubbish dumped everywhere ...

We took a private day tour to Cefalu and Monreale. Cefalu is a cute little beach town and Monreale has some tremendous views and a truly beautiful cathedral. Our guide took us into Palermo for lunch, which took way too much time. In retrospect, I wish we had had more time to just walk by ourselves in Palermo, maybe just taxiing to Monreale for a quick visit. I was expecting these towns to be more ...

We didn't know what to expect from Palermo. As we walked out, the locals were very aggressive trying to sell tours, reminded me of some Caribbean ports. We walked past all of them trying to get the bus to Mondello beach. At some point, one of them convinced us and we agreed to a 90 min tour in a motorcycle style car, ending in Mondello beach for 70€.
