We took the post-cruise extension to Oslo; however, with only one full day, it wasn't long enough to do everything we desired. The city is lovely but most of the museums were closed as new ones are being built along the waterfront. The Thon Opera Hotel was a bit of a disappointment, not to the standards of the ship. Even the bartender remarked Oslo is not a great destination in the winter! ...

We were due to dock at 0700 and knew the weather was turning so were prepared for the cloudy and damp early approach but it was so serene and pretty and we docked right by the castle.
