Got off the boat in Noumea, then took a bus to Lemon Bay. Had nice pizza there before going to the beach for a wonderful swim, then caught bus back. You can get your own bus there, it is much cheaper than the rip off price the cruise ship charges you, but make sure you go early and plan at least 90 minutes to get back to port as buses are running late or not turning up to collect you. Allow 10- ...
Hop on hop off bus $12 each. Buses run all day. We had a drink at Barca Cafe for the free wifi. There is a market atop the tourist centre, I find this is the best place to pick up souvenirs. Bring small AUD notes, no coins. ...
Hop on hop off bust is $12AUD. The ship's bus takes you to the terminal and the bus runs around the island (takes about 40mins) with stops at markets, Lemon Beach, shopping centre, aquarium (highly recommended from our last visit) and a few others. Great cheap way to see Noumea if you have already been there (3rd time for us). ...

This is a similar offering to the ship and the Green Train looks newer and better. The tour guide is excellent and very friendly. The tour is better than hop on/hop-off bus due to longer route and going to scenic viewing areas above ...
A very ordinary town with an over-development of multi-storey apartment blocks. We were disappointed to see remaining French colonial buildings were dilapidated and/or unused. ...

The main ‘city’ is an eye sore people are rude and there’s minimal places you can use A$’s. If you can it’s massively expensive. It’s a shame all cruise ships seem to go to Noumea. ...
