Transferred by bus to visitor centre. After short half hour walk took in most of the touristy sights offered by the town. Still flabbergasted by AU$30 per person Carnval wanted to charge for a tour guide to show us the same sights. Are these people for REAL?.... ...
caught local bus ($2.50 aud) to northern beach , fantastic swimming enjoyed our stay, went to local supermarket and made a french roll with pate , cheese and local wine very reasonable we picnicked in the park -superb.
Pay with your visa , always opt for local currency if prompted in our case , changed $50 aud to xpf at ATM for bus , markets etc ...

Caught the little train around the island. It’s a shame that the boat doesn’t stop on a week day as there would be so much more to do in the city centre.
Not many shops trade on the weekends, we where there on a Saturday some but I believe none on a Sunday
