Not a bad port. Large beach, within walking . Just a small amount of shops. Have free trollies or vans that will take you. Visit the Marriott . They have beautiful botanical gardens and coi fish pools, free. Can walk or take trolley. Worth seeing. Also have free vans to take you to k-mart. For quilters, there is a beautiful quilt store called Quilt Passions. ...

Spent the morning at the lagoon beach next to the tender pier, swimming and snorkelling. Wandered along the main street, found an excellent cafe/ice-cream shop for lunch. Stopped at ABC store for macadamia nuts, chocolates, and Kona coffee to bring home. Was going to buy most of those items in Hilo but that port stop was cancelled. ...
