Kona was very beautiful and the shops and restaurants were all within walking distance after you got off the ship. It was most convenient. We had to buy another piece of luggage for the gifts to take home. The ocean in the bay was such a beautiful turquoise I would have liked to take the submarine tour that was reasonably priced. We did not book any tours and just wandered around town. We ate lunch in Kona, stopped briefly at the beach by the tender dock, then headed back on board. Note: If you see a storm rolling in, either wait it out if you have time, or get on a tender ASAP.
