Stayed at Waikiki Beach for a few nights either side. Weather was great so made use of the beach right in front of the hotel and walked up the Diamond Head trail one morning before it got too hot. Big city whacky traffic. We rented a car at the airport and drove up to the north shore Sunset Beach and watched the surfers on a glorious Hawaiin day. Found a few good spots for poke along the way back (Pearl City). On previous visits the USS Arizona Memorial is a must do and very very well done. Our flight did not leave until 6:00 pm and we left the ship at 8:00 and took a shuttle to the airport where we rented a van from Budget rental. Our original plan was to visit Pearl Harbor but with the Arizona Memorial still closed, we decide to go to Diamond Head and climb the mountain. We didn’t do any excursions in Honolulu and didn’t get to the North Shore and Pearl Harbor which I would do next time. I was told by an Uber driver that is best to rent a car for the North Shore due to expense cost of Uber rides on the return. I would stay at a hotel that has a rental car on site to make it even more convenient like Kahala. ...
