Lovely place to call. A bit chilly, not unexpected for the time of year so decided to pay 10 euros to go on the tour bus around town. A great way to learn more about Genoas history and to see the main monuments. Would like to stop there again in warmer months to enjoy the town a bit more ...

We opted to take a hop on, hop off bus on our own for this port. Initially we started off by walking the area which ended up taking us into a shady area which we did not realize was not extremely safe. Once we choose the hop on hop off bus, we were able to stop at other areas that were more touristy. If we take another cruise wear one of the stops is this port, We will likely book an excursion ...

Again, we booked a walking tour with the local tourist centre. It was good, though a bit 'dry', I mean historical, interesting, cultural, ... but it could have been presented a bit 'lighter' ...

There is a shuttle from ship out of port area, but well organized. Then you will have a very long walk to reach the part of Genoa you will want to see. Keep right until you are past the aquarium. To your left you will see crowds of people going up a hill. Follow the crowds but always keep right. Do not venture left or you will find yourself in some very shady areas. We took the HOHO bus fro the ...
