Cozumel is a fun port. Greatly resent being forced to march through the Dufry duty-free shop in order to get to the port village. You can avoid it by veering to the left through the "crew area." We did our own thing in Cozumel, we did not use a ship tour. When we got off the boat, we grabbed a cab to Paradise Beach. It was a great experience, despite the fact that it rained on and off all day. Nice staff there, good food, good facilities,I also had a wonderful beach massage there. Is inexpensive, unlimited food/drink, pool w/swim up bar, nice beach, beach chairs/cabanas, access to rent float waterpark and waverunner stuff. great fast service. food is awesome, particularly fish tacos super-fresh. This was our favorite port. Waterfront drive was beautiful. We enjoyed the beautiful sculptures. Had to take a taxi to get there but highly recommend eating and shopping at Poncho’s Backyard. Food and service were excellent, margaritas were outstanding. Adjoining shop was large and offered higher quality goods than most other shops. Sales personnel were friendly and helpful but not pushy. ...
