Theres a blue bus that costs €1.75 each way from the port entrance into the old town, otherwise from the ship its a good 30 or 40 min walk. Corfu was a wonderful little town. The ship offers a low cost shuttle into the city centre. From there you can stroll around and have a wonderful Greek meal so we did not need the ship excursion. I think if you want to go further afield it would pay to take the planned excursion but we were happy just pottering around. ...

A beautiful island, we hired a taxi tour of the island and the driver was very informative. Views around the island were impressive. Greece is being inundated with refugees from other countries and the economy is in the pits. Our driver and the countryside reflect this.
