CORFU:
A different kid of Greek island. It was ruled by a lot of folks throughout the years. It is NOT whitewashed and feels more European. We got off the ship and took a taxi to the old town, not knowing there was a free bus since MSC tries to charge you 9 Euros a piece for their transportation to town. The town was very crowded since it was Good Friday in the Orthodox church and the hop on hop off bus was not running. We were lucky to see two Good Friday processions with bands. ...
Nice tour, but nothing very exciting. Winery visit was okay, beautiful setting with picnic tables under the trees, but wine was not the best. Rest of tour consisted of a drive into the hills to see scenic views, with a stop at a cafe/gift shop. ...
Walking through the narrow streets and visiting the local shops was nice. There were few parks that we enjoyed visiting as well as the old fortress. We climb to the top for a great view. It's definitely worth it! Just hop on the city bus. ...
Lots to see here. We went to the old Venetian fortress (as opposed to the new Venetian fortress!) and walked around the old town. In summer, would definitely be worth exploring more of the island to see the beaches. ...
