- Lots to see in 1 day so plan well. Start going to Kronborg castle by train, then back to the city to stroll through the trivoli garden amusement park, go to the Rosenborg palace and see the beautiful palace artefacts with the Danish Crown, Christianborg if have time (we didn’t), walk to Nyhvn for the postcode pictures with massive crows and finish up at the little mermaid statue near ...
Last stop Copenhagen. Lots of people disembarking but we took the shuttle bus into the city and went to Tivoli Gardens as we had been to Copenhagen a few years ago on a city break in early spring and it had been closed. Nice place but not really impressed at the high cost of entry just to see some gardens. Walked around the main sights after that and returned on the shuttle bus. ...
We left from Copenhagen after staying in a hotel and exploring the city on our won. YEs, we went to Tivoli, walked a distance on Christian Anderson Blvd., etc. HAd a great time on our won. ...
Copenhagen is a lovely city & the residents our friendly. Our tour guide, Stephan, knew little about the city because he wasn't a citizen. Fortunately, the coach driver was informative & often took the mike from Stephan to explain about the city & the sights, etc. we drove by Rodan's "Thinker" & after we passed by the Stephan said, " on your right is "The Thinker". Oh we already passed it." ...
Embarkation port. Terminal a bit thight but check-in and embarkation went fairly smooth and on time. More functional than fancy. As always, DCL had a few characters out for pictures ...
A terrific city . . . worth 3~5 days to see everything . . . but this was after an overnight flight via London as I was bushed. Wife and son went downtown to celebrate Danish Pride Night and had a good time. Safe, festive, friendly, not inexpensive. ...
