After all the other beautiful places Berfen was a bit of an anti-climax, personally I think it would be preferable to start in Bergen but appreciate, with sailing times, it may not be practica. Bergen port is a working port and ugly, you need to catch a shuttle bus to reach the port entrance. As long as you get clear weather this is a great port. Ten minute walk from the ship to the city centre and 4 minutes more to the funicular up mount floyen. Yes there are queues but the view is well worth it. Bryggen and the fish market are must see areas and quite relaxing to explore. We returned to the ship for lunch as eating out in Norway isn't cheap. ...
