The port in Belize is old & dirty. People are NOT friendly. If you do not buy an excursion, prepare to wait HOURS standing in line waiting to get on the tinder. You will only have 3-4 hours to shop, etc. NOT worth the time. Instead fly to a privet resort. Be prepared to be bombarded by women that want to braid your hair every step you take. ...

They tell you on the boat to not enter in to the town very far. We thought they were just trying to keep the sales where they made money too. We were wrong.....that town is 'ugly' and dangerous! We took a taxi ride around just to see the town...even the taxi driver told us how bad it was. I have no idea why the ship even stops there. If you have not already planned an excursion for this ...
