Having visited this port before I was looking forward to the included river cruise through the canals. It was very good with our knowledgeable guide but walking tour after ,the streets were grubby & it felt oppressive so we were not inclined to return into the city after lunch. Our stop in Amsterdam was a short 6 hours due to the limitations with the locks in and out. Advice: the walk to the city center is 30-40 minutes and thru busy Highway environments. We used Uber to and from for about $12 each way - and saved so much stress. Our ship left without 9 passengers who were late. We visited the Ann Frank house and museum- and highly recommend it. The port time was shortened twice for us unfortunately - once before sailing changing the all aboard time from 5.30pm to 3.30pm, and once on the day where we were an hour late into port due to the length of time it took to go through the locks to the city.
