We had a wonderful experience in Alexandria. We used Ramses Tours and they were wonderful. Mo hammed (our tour guide) was terrific. He picked us up at the port area and we drove to Cairo. From there we visited the Cairo museum. Mo hammed escorted us through, showed us the high points and then on to a nice lunch near the Pyramids. Then we saw the Pyramids and the Sphinx, did the camel rides, a few ...

We took a 2-day excursion to Luxor and Cairo that was fabulous. Be sure to book the excursion well before sailing. This was well worth the $1,000 expense and was very popular. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, 5 star hotels were utilized for meals and overnight accommodation. It was a whirlwind trip with airfare to Luxor, then back to Cairo included. As well as entry fees to the Valley of the ...

One of the reason we booked this cruise was to see the Great Pyramids. We went with two other couples on a private overnight tour. Egypt is very polluted and the traffic is beyond chaotic. Seeing the pyramids and the Sphinx were surreal and a highlight of our trip. We road camels, which added to the adventure. We enjoyed a felucca ride on the Nile. We visited the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which ...

Toured with Ramses Tours. First day was 1/2 day tour of Alexandria with Noura, and the second day, Cairo, all day, with Samah. Tour guides both days EXTREMELY beautiful, bright, respectful of senior citizens. Made sure we saw all there was to see. Although it was not always easy to understand their English their beauty made up for it, and they were more than happy to answer questions. Ramses did ...

Used Ramses Tour- Overnight in Cairo Highly recommend an overnight tour, Ramses was great. We had a private guide and a separate driver which was nice for drop offs at the sites- saving time. I feel like the 2 days were a whirlwind of places - Egyptian Museum, Sound and Light tour, Citadel, Felluca Ride, Saccara, Mephis, Giza, Alexandria Library Drive by. I recommend it all. I really enjoyed the ...

We took a tour that promised a four-wheel drive caravan to show us the pyramids of Saquora as well as those of Giza and the sphinx. We got every penny of it. I had asked several times before leaving if the jeeps were air conditioned. The answer was always: Yes! Reality: Most of them have A/C. Long bus ride thru Alexandria to Cairo, to Sakkara (also spelled Saquora). There was a lot of dust in ...

Not much to see in Alexandria, but a 3 hour ride brings you to the pyramids, they were awesome to see. The city right outside the port was really dirty looking, so I wouldn't head out on my own, however on an excursion it is fascinating to look at. ...

Alexandria and Cairo are dirty places, there is no getting away from this fact. It's a man's world in Egypt and women do seem to be treated very differently than in the western world. That said, the trip we took to the Giza Plateau to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx was well worth the 2-3 hour drive. The pyramids are still to this day an amazing feat of engineering; it is amazing to think ...

Alexandria was a huge disappointment. We took an overview tour of Alexandria which was disappointing and fast. Not enough time to visit one of the most famous library in the world - at best we stayed 20 minutes. The tour was concentrated in viewing all sectors of the city some of which were not that great to see. Second day in Alexandria, we took a tour to Cairo and the Pyramids in Giza. This is ...

Egypt is a third world country, and as such, is dirty. With that said, the two excursions we took were amazing! Cairo: LONG day, but you get to see pyramids, The Sphinx, and ride camels and four wheelers. Food was all right, but nothing compared to the ship. Vendors gave new meaning to pushy, but understand no- the fifth time you say it! Alexandria: Nice city. Quite modern, compared with ...
