This is my 3rd trip to Barcelona, a city that I love, and could definately live in. Twice I have stayed at the Hotel Colon with it views of the Gothic Cathedral and the Sardana Dancers. I love walking through the narrow streets of the Barri Gothic, meditating in the Gothic Cathedral, a visit to the Catalonian museums, lunch or dinner in Port Vell, wandering through the streets of Riberia to the Picasso Museum, walking up Via Laietana to the Palau de la Musica, continuing north to Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell, returning on Passeig de Gracia, Barcelonas answer to 5th Ave, passing by the Block of Discord with all the architecture of the famous Modernisme architects, and of course an afternoon break for hot chocolate and churros while deciding on a restaurant for dinner. On my next trip I am going to try a hotel north of the Diagonal near Passeig de Gracia to better explore that area of town, and hopefully a performance of spanish musice at the Ppalau de la Musica Catalanya.
Just not enough time to explore everything this wonderful port has to offer. Would definately like to try the cable-car rides, toboggan rides, and have tea on the Terrace of Reid's Palace hotel
Wine Tasting Rating:
Beautiful wine and food. Need more time to sample it.
Port is at Malaga, took the tour to Granada to see Alhambra! Fantastic trip. Read Washington Irving's Tales of Alhambra before hand if you can and you will get more from the trip. Guides [one on the bus, one at Alhambra] were excellent, just alot to absorb.
