The first port of call was St Croix. We booked an excursion on our own and not through the cruise line. We went snorkeling with "Big Beard's" It was a good experience, but the water was a little rough that day, so the snorkeling wasn't the best.
Next port was St Kitts. In the morning we took the Essential St. Kitts excursion through the cruise line. It was a good tour with two stops, Romney manor and Brimstone Hill Fortress (The fort had breath taking views and great photo opportunity). After our morning excursion we walked around the port area and had some delicious local lobster and chicken that was being cooked on a grill on the road side by a local gentleman, Loochie . He is located across from the Social Security Building.
Our next port was Dominica. Here we took the Hot Springs Escape. This was great. The first leg of the trip takes you to a cool mountain spring with a nice water fall that you take a short swim to. Then you head to the hot springs for a nice relaxing 30-45 minutes in the hot springs. After our excursion we had lunch at Coco Rico, located a five minute walk from the pier to the left.
Our next port was Grenada. In Grenada, we were on our own again. We took the water taxi to Grande Anse Beach ($8/person round trip). We rented two beach chairs and one umbrella ($15 total). We just relaxed on the beach. There are several places to get drinks and food. We also bought some local spices at the spice market located right off of the beach.
Our last port of call was St. Thomas. Here we were on our own again. We made our way to St. Johns. We took a taxi from the pier to Red Hook($10/person one way). From the Red Hook, we took the ferry to St. Johns ($12/person round trip and 20 minute ride one way). Once we arrived at Cruz Bay in St. Johns we took a taxi to Cinnamon Bay ($8/person one way). Cinnamon Bay was great. It is a nice long and wide beach. Water is very calm and great for snorkeling. You can rent beach chairs, snorkel gear, and water sports gear right on the beach. There is also a restaurant, showers, and a bathroom close by.
