Grenada is a beautiful island to take a ride around however there really is not a lot to see. As a shopping port it is mostly local markets. If you do go touring take a lot of single bills as at every stop someone has a history to show you or a local costume to pose with you. Although we did not go to the beach we were told that they were fantastic.
More beaches. A trip across the island to shopping area is about 20 minutes each way but worth the ride. A visit to the rum factory is also worth it but beware of the tastings. They do pour generously. Be sure to try the strawberry flavor.
Always a favorite. A beautiful island to take a ride around. Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! This was probably the first time that we were actually able to walk down the street without it being crowded to the point that we were forced off the sidewalk. In visiting our favorite stores and catching up with local friends we learned that it has been a very tough season which may account for the more aggressive street hustling in front of the stores. Still the best value in the Caribbean. Bargain all you want.
