St. Croix was pretty and we enjoyed the beach at Cane Bay. Getting there was pretty, too, but unfortunately our Discover Scuba excursion did not pan out for us. If we tried again, we would want to try in a pool first.
The Grand Anse beach was really, REALLY nice. The water and the sand were great. The hawkers who kept coming up to our beach blanket to sell us stuff were not. We felt like from the moment we got to Grenada to the moment we left there were vendors and taxi drivers pushing their services and goods on us. It made for a very un-relaxing beach day.
We did a Turtle Cove Sail and Snorkel that we really enjoyed. Swimming next to sea turtles is just amazing. Not to mention the reef and the fish, and the sea urchin that our snorkel guide let us hold. The water was warm and wonderful, the view below and above the water was gorgeous, and we even enjoyed the sail there and back. They offered rum drinks on the way back, and we indulged a bit too much, but we had a great time and we got some fun t-shirts and temporary pirate tattoos...which should tell you how much we were drinking. It was a great time, and we would definitely do it again with a few less drinks.
