Comfortable coach, as with any coach tour the passenger's side if the devoid of tourist. The excursion allowed us to get off at las Ramblas and make our own way back to the ship.
Gothic Quarter Walking Tour Rating:
An easy walk around the cathedral with an interesting guide who was proud of her city.
This should have been fun but the toboggan directly in front of us hit the wall of a house and one of the passengers panicked and jumped out. As the toboggan had not quite come to a standstill she sprawled over the road, breaking her camera, gashing and bruising her leg, and we later discovered she had broken her wrist. The toboggan operators took her to hospital and replaced the camera.
If you are a little unsteady on your feet or elderly, consider doing this ride very carefully before you embark on it.
Definitely need to take a jacket for this tour, even in summertime it is very cool above the sea of clouds. We did a full day tour which included a buffet lunch in a hotel at Santa Crux.
This tour could be done independently for less expense. Rent a car or taxi. Go in the morning, do the camel ride first (pretty tame in the excitement stakes but fun for 8 euros per person) and then whip along to the Timanfaya National where you pay 8 euros per person to take a 1 hour recorded narrative tour of this fantastic volcanic area.
