My partner was really sick at this time so we cancelled the excursion. We still went into town, when he felt better. As we've been there several times..it's where you shop. There are nice beaches but we really just shop here. There are lots of Iguanas on the rocks along the pier. They love fresh fruit & are like feeding pigeons(perhaps a bit uglier!)
It's pronounce "Antiga", not Antigua' We went to the Veranda resort. It's like a timeshare style resort. Food & drink(including booze)are free(part of the cost)This excursion is fairly expensive, but well worth it. Nice beach & great pools. The buffet was really surprisingly good. This island seemed to have quite a bit less poverty than, say,St Lucia.Overall a great stop.
We did the river tubing trip. Nice & relaxing, but a bit short.Water was fairly cool, but being from New England, no big deal. The island is quite lush. Some poverty but not too bad.The "Sunnyside Gardens" is another excursion we recommend.
Nicest water we've seen in the Caribbean. Great for diving. The people really are very ecology minded. There are great reefs for outstanding snorkeling. We really recommend this. We chose the Sailing yacht charter.Beer soft drinks & snacks are included. Were were unfortunately unable to snorkel, as the tether lines were all in use & you can't drop anchor(protect the coral reefs, you know)We did much sailing, instead & were able to steer the yacht if we wished, most relaxing. Only issue was the QV was in port only part of the day, so the excursions were quite short.
