Went to Accra Beach. About 15 per person for the round trip taxi fare. Nice beach. Lots of food vendors there, chairs available for rent and umbrellas. Felt very safe. There were also beach vendors in kiosks there where you could buy shirts and things. Back at the port were several shops with jewelry, t-shirts, clothing etc.

Went by water taxi to Grand Anse beach. We turned left when we got off the water taxi - should have turned right and kept walking past all the folks. If you keep walking you get to where the public beach is with lifeguards. Less crowded there. Nice beach. Warm water. A craft market there has a lot of stuff including spices and t-shirts etc. Small port shopping area inside as well. A fort right at the port overhangs on the hill.

This was a great day. We booked a tour with Nature Isle Explorers and it was great. Went snorkeling on Champagne Reef which was incredible... like being in a giant fish tank. Then to TiTou Gorge where Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed. Cold water but lots of fun. Drove through the mountains to get there. Great views. Saw Trafalgar Falls and then to Screw Spa where we soaked in sulfur baths - loved it. Highly recommend Donaldson and this tour. Bought some sulfur soap at the port to take home. Great for the skin.

I liked St. Kitts. The downtown is attractive in a very British way. Lots of high end shopping duty free by the port. We wanted to go to Brimstone Hill Fortress and although the taxi guys wanted us to do a full tour, one took us to Brimstone - with other stops on the way and LOTS of info. He was proud of his island which is great. Brimstone is amazing. High on a hill - can't imagine the labour to build it. The kids liked it better than El Morro in San Juan. I bought some jewelry in St. Kitts too - all at the best prices of course! LOL.

I had heard this was a more dangerous stop and the visitor people do warn you not to go to isolated areas which is a shame. The only stop the cruise also warned us to watch our stuff. That said, where we stopped at the small town there were police everywhere. We walked around and went swimming at a beach right by the port. Rainbow Beach is supposed to be nice there for snorkeling but the road was closed that day because it was a holiday and there was a big parade.
