Dunedin
Port Rating:
A nice town centered around the Octagon, with two good museums, two nice churches, a beautiful old train station, and a good commercial area. It makes for a very enjoyable day, including a scenic shuttle into town.

Auckland
Port Rating:
Auckland offers a nice harbor area, the Auckland Museum, a brand new art museum, and a large shopping area downtown. Public transportation is fairly easy, mostly free in the inner city. It seems to be primarily a commercial port but with some nice touches that make a 1-2 day visit enjoyable.

Sydney (Australia)
Port Rating:
Sydney is a beautiful city with enough sights and activities that kept us busy for four days. The bridge walk (not the climb) is lots of fun, and the Opera House, the Botanic Gardens, the Rocks, great restaurants and hotels within walking distance of the Harbor, Bondi Beach (via bus), and the harbor ferries all all part of a great experience. BTW, don't miss Din Tai Fung restaurant for dumplings! The Lord Nelson Brewrey is a nice, convenient place to stay with lots of local "color".
